Welcome to eathalifax, the home of food + drink awesomeness in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
I began my food journey in the most unlikely of places, the woods of Northern Ontario, where I began a career as a tree planting cook. Little did I know it would lead to a full fledged food obsession.
These days we’re getting back to our roots, making as much as we can from scratch, sourcing incredible local produce and even trying our hands at gardening. We believe in real food, including butter and bacon, the kind of food that nourishes both our body and soul.
Along with locally inspired recipes – well mostly – we’re also sharing the love for local restaurants and businesses in around the province.
I’ve also been lucky enough to write Occasions, a weekly recipe column for the Chronicle Herald in conjunction with the Nova Scotia Liquor Commission as well as both food styling and writing for My Occasions, the quarterly food and drink magazine from the NSLC. You can also find me writing for Eat In Eat Out and more recently Culinaire, sharing the East Coast love over at Eat North. reppin’ Food Bloggers of Canada, and hanging out with the Halifax Food Bloggers.
